The sacca di Goro is a humid area which preserves the lagoon habitat originally found in this area before the land reclamation works took place during the last century.
It covers an area of 2600 hectares , reaching from the mouth of the Volano Po to the mouth of the Goro Po. At the Southern point of the cove there is a sand bank that marks the point where the waters of the PO finish and the Adriatic sea begins.
The sandy sea floor is the ideal habitat for numerous species of molluscs and lagoon fish.
The guided motorcruiser trips depart from Gorino Ferrarese for the Sacca di Goro and the mollusc farms.
